The ONE Legian New Urban Living Implementation
Bali, 2016 – Successfully Rebranding officially on 1 January 2016, The ONE Legian Hotel cooperates with the local community and participates in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. The hotel regularly holds CSR events to spread awareness and encourage more people to care for society. This is a routine CSR Programs held by The Platinum TEAM of The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung which also managed by The ONE Legian intends to create a spirit of togetherness and tolerance as a commitment to implement the Tri Hita Karana as a fundamental concept at The ONE Legian operational. The event was showing one of Tri Hita Karana part implementation that is “Pawongan” which is a good relationship among humans by making a harmony in balance. The ONE Legian is known for all their charitable and CSR events in Bali. The hotel follows the Tri Hita Karana Implementation of providing welfare to the community and enhancing the beauty of sharing. Considering The ONE Legian was getting involved to the CSR activity, there were some Charitable Event held in January – April 2016.
First Charity Event was held by The Platinum TEAM of The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung on 22nd January 2016. The Platinum TEAM visited children of Eben Haezer Orphanage as a CSR Activity prepared by Christian Committee of The ONE Legian.
Eben Haezer, is an orphanage foundation that located in Palapa Street, Sidakarya – Denpasar. This orphanage has more than 25 children to be take care of by private foundation. Since 1990, Eben Haezer helps neglected and needy children. The youngest one is 6 months old and the oldest is 18 years old. The TEAM arrived around 02.30 pm and welcomed with chants performed by children and greeted by Mr. Rudy as an organizer of Eben Haezer. They are very enthusiastic to welcoming the TEAM of The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung. “Most of them are still at elementary school’ explained by Mr. Rudy. The Platinum TEAM also had a look around the orphanage and chatting with the children. This “Be Blessing & Be Glowing” charity event gives some donation to support the orphanage that accommodates more than 25 children. The event followed by lunch together, then closed with taking pictures with all children and the Platinum TEAM of The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung.
Following The CSR Activity, The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung also went to a Pura located in Singaraja, Bali as the activity of the Spiritual Journey followed by the humanity event as a second CSR event. Starting with Pura Siwa, the spiritual journey continued with praying at Pura Pemuteran then persembahyangan at Pura Pemuteran, Goa Sunia, Pulaki, Ratu Gede Gamang, Pabean, Ratu Niang, Pasar Agung, Gedong Arta, Melanting and Pura Belatung & Pura Kerta kawat. Not only for The Spiritual Journey, The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung also hold a CSR Activity during this Tirta Yatra Activity as a donation for Banjir Bandang around Pulaki Temple area happened on last 24 January 2016. Based on Republika.co.id, Singaraja – Dozens of homes in Gerokgak, Buleleng, Bali, destroyed by flash floods on Sunday, 24 January 2016. The disaster resulted in dozens of households (families) to evacuate to a safe location. The flash floods caused by heavy rains that hit the region since 23 January 2016. According to data, The damaged and destroyed homes are in two villages namely Penyabangan and the village of Musi. In the village of Musi floods destroyed seven homes and dozens of others were damaged mild to moderate, resulting in about 56 heads of families were displaced, while in Penyabangan eight homes were destroyed, dozens more were damaged and lightweight, about 36 families flee. This disaster made The Platinum TEAM moved to lend a helping hand to victims of natural disasters. Together with Tirta Yatra Activity round Pura Pulaki at Buleleng, The Platinum TEAM had a CSR Activity by giving some donation such as Sembako, Linen, Clothes and Stationery.
The Third Charity event supported by IHGM member was hold on 30 January 2016 was also one of The ONE Legian CSR Programs. The ONE Legian, represented by Mrs. Dewi Mas, General Manager went to the event when the hospitality leaders handed over a donation to the representative of state elementary school SD2 Puhu, located in Puhu village, Payangan. For IHGM, This is the first such social event held by the association but for The ONE Legian this was a routine CSR Programs held by The Platinum TEAM which intends to create a spirit of togetherness and tolerance which hopefully the similar events will be held regularly in the future. The ONE Legian recently turned up with IHGM Charity, by donating T-shirt, Stationery pouch, Bath towel and Amenities pouch to be distributed among the needy. The IHGM was established by a group of hotel and villa general managers in Bali and aims to establish an association that will be actively involved in supporting disadvantaged members of the community. The spirit of IHGM became in line with The ONE Legian commitment to implement the Tri Hita Karana as a fundamental concept at The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung operational. The event was showing one of Tri Hita Karana part implementation that is “Pawongan” which is a good relationship among humans by making a harmony in balance.
Not only for Internal Charity, The ONE Legian also supported Hotelier Humanity event. Followed by Valentine’s Day on 14 February 2016, The ONE Legian sent 10 participants to join Blood Donation Event held by The Legian Beach Hotel as a CSR activity program. The fully enthusiasm was shown by The ONE Legian Employees in attending the humanity event as a part of togetherness and care others to spread awareness and encourage more people to care for society which is becoming one of The ONE Legian concept “Treat Others as You Want to be Treated”
In line with CSR Activity, The ONE Legian also support BHA (Bali Hotel Association) Humanity Program. On 5 April 2016 The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung which managed by The ONE Management was delighted to contribute usable towels, bed sheets, pillows, pillow covers, and stationeries (books, pencils, pens) to be donated to 4 (four) orphanages in Negara, as well as some orphanages in Bangli and Singaraja distributed by Bali Hotel Association. Bali Hotel Association is a professional group of star rated hotels and resorts in Bali. Members include General Managers from more than 100 hotels and resorts in Bali that representing more than 15,000 hotel rooms and almost 30,000 employees in tourism sector. Living in a Balinese community is ruled by the local philosophy called the “Gotong Royong” which means joined responsibility and mutual cooperation. As a part of BHA member as well as same philosophy, The ONE Legian and Hotel Vila Lumbung will contribute well for any Charity Program as a New Urban Living implementation at The ONE Legian.
Another support also shown on next Humanity Event hold by The ONE Legian on April 2016. After 3 months of being successfully rebranded into 4 “Lifestyle” Hotel, The ONE Legian cooperated with Indonesian Red Cross (PMI Bali ) and PHRI Bali supported by Bali Hotel Association (BHA) organize a New Urban Living – A Way to save life by Blood Drive event and free medical test from The ONE Legian supporting partners as a blood donation. The ONE Legian invited all colleagues and partners to take part in this activity as a friendly competition to see which community can donate the most blood and ultimately save the most life. By this CSR event, The ONE Legian donated a total of over 105 litters. The Humanity event starting at 8 am – 2 pm on April 15th, 2016, colleagues from several industry of hospitality departments stood in line in the hotel’s Legian Meeting Room to give blood. They all underwent regular health checks by making sure all the donors drink plenty of fluids on the donation day, maintain a healthy level of iron in their diet before donating and have a health history and good physical. Those who passed proceeded to donate blood. Indonesia Red Cross was impressed with The ONE Legian Platinum TEAM efforts and support. The organization posted and shared the news of the blood drive on its website and social media channels. Commenting on the Blood Donation Events, Mrs. Dewi Mas, General Manager of The ONE Legian, said:
